Their Kamameshi is amazing! We had to wait for 1 hour or so (though it was long weekend) to get a seat, but it was worth it.
There were no customers in the store because I visited inside Corona. In the very quiet store, the squeaking of the warbler was very fashionable.I had a mushroom cooked rice. The rice was very delicious with a nice texture.Also, the sashimi konjak that is served with the set is fluffy, and since it has no wedges, it complements the kamameshi. The rice cooked with a lot of vegetables was very satisfying to eat. It is also nice to have a bun.There are other set meals of river fish, so I would like to go there again.
Visited in June 2020.I received 1650 yen for mushroom kettle rice, 350 yen for roasting, and 800 yen for grilled sweetfish.Mushroom kamameshi was a good salt and plum dish, with the texture and flavor of mushrooms and the seasoning of cooked rice. It was cooked in water and the two types of sashimi konjac were delicious. The sweetness is crunchy.The baking was juicy, tender and very delicious ❗Ayu Shio-yaki had no cuts in the belly and no flakes were removed. I don't dislike the intestines, but the bitterness was intense and it was not good enough. Ayu is lost.This time I visited right after the store opened, so I was able to pass through the seat without waiting time, but when I visited about twice before, I abandoned the second parking lot because it could not be fully parked. The aim is immediately after opening.
The walk from the train station will be rewarded with lovely steamed mushroom on rice. They also have Unagi which is nice. The space inside is cozy and relaxing. Good for a rest point while chatting for your next destination.

午前11時40分の時点で90分待ちとのことでした。きのこの釜めしと水炊き、トマト水炊きのみテイクアウトできるとの事で、古民家の雰囲気も味わいたかったのですが、やむを得なくテイクアウトにしました。(きのこの釜めし1120円/水炊き550円/トマト水炊き650円/釜を返却すると220円返金)テイクアウトは10分程で受け取れました。川沿いで頂く釜飯もたいへん美味しかったです。(テイクアウトの際、水炊きが斜めになってしまっても、汁が一滴もこぼれないパッキングには驚きました)
The restaurant interior and surroundings create a lovely atmosphere to have a meal in. We arrived just after midday on a Sunday, and probably because of snowy and wet weather on the previous day, we waited less than 10-minutes before being seated. Staff are somewhat unsmiling. And the seasonal chicken and burdock kamameshi set I ordered was good, but slightly lacking in some way in terms of flavor, and is really nothing special enough for me to come back to.

開店30分前に着いたが駐車場が満車寸前。なんとか停めてお店に行くとかなりの行列で、記名用紙の2枚目に名前を書いた。開店後におよそ2時間半待ちと言われて断念しテイクアウトできのこ釜めしを購入し帰宅した。たくさんのきのこに鶏の出汁がきいててうまい。ぜひお店で食べたかった。

This place came highly recommended, so we had expectations. It shouldn't be that surprising that there was a queue. Being obon holiday, we waited more than 1 hour, or 90 minutes as the sign warned us at the entrance.The inside looks like a traditional Japanese house, with a really lovely garden view. Their specialty is 釜めし which literally means kettle rice. It's traditional Japanese rice dish cooked in an iron pot called a kama. We had the mushroom and chicken version respectively, and was really good.Nothing fancy or extravagant, even the side dishes and flavours, but you can feel comfort food and homely cooking when you taste them!
We arrived before the store opened, but the first parking lot is already full and there are already many customers. I was told to wait for 40 minutes, but I'm glad to hear that I'll be able to show you as soon as I can at the outside table. Sweet tofu, horse sashimi, kamameshi and water cooked, all delicious. As expected, it is popular. The atmosphere and the staff were very nice.

Both the chicken burdock rice and the mushroom rice were very delicious. It will be great if chicken burdock root rice cooked on the menu increases in the future. Soup with plenty of Chinese cabbage, surprisingly rich ingredients, I am happy with the spirit of the shop. It's a soup that you can enjoy the taste of the ingredients, but if you can feel the taste of the dashi stock in the soup stock, you'll be more happy... But I am very satisfied. Next time, I will bring secret Ajinomoto or Ajimoto.
It was quite a drive to get to the restaurant but well worth the wait! The soba was delicious especially with the freshly grated wasabi.
